The Importance of Wellness Care and Vaccinations for Puppies and Kittens

Regular Veterinary Visits

Scheduling an initial exam with Infinity Vet for just $70 provides a valuable opportunity to monitor your pet’s growth, development, and overall health. This also establishes a channel for open communication with Dr. Krysta through telehealth visits throughout the year, offering peace of mind whenever your pet may need medical attention. Protective Vaccinations

Vaccinations are crucial in safeguarding against common preventable diseases, helping to ensure the well-being of your new furry family member while also protecting public health.

Canine Parvovirus (Parvo)

One of the most serious threats to your puppy’s health is Canine Parvovirus (Parvo). It’s a highly contagious virus that can lead to severe illness and even death, especially in young and unvaccinated dogs. Here are some important details:

Parvo spreads through direct contact with an infected dog or feces-contaminated surfaces, such as bowls, leashes, or the ground. The virus can survive in the environment for months, making it crucial to keep your pup away from unknown dogs until they are fully vaccinated.

Infected puppies may exhibit signs such as vomiting, severe diarrhea (often bloody), lethargy, and loss of appetite. If you notice any of these symptoms, contact us immediately.

Keep your puppy inside until a week past final vaccination. This is the only way to guarantee a dog does not get parvo. Staying away from other dogs and public spaces is essential until they have completed their vaccination series. Ensure they receive all required vaccinations at their scheduled appointments.

We encourage all new pet owners to schedule wellness exams and vaccinations. Together, we can set the foundation for a healthy and happy life for your precious puppies and kittens!

Community Spotlight: Sara Tobin, Our Christmas Angel

This month, we proudly highlight the compassionate efforts of Sara Tobin, our Christmas Angel. Sara single-handedly trapped, secured, and funded the spaying and neutering of a colony of cats, ensuring they found forever homes. She graciously invited Infinity Vet into her home for a day dedicated to spay and neuter procedures, successfully performing 4 spays and 5 neuters. These kitties now have a brighter future thanks to Sara’s wonderful heart.

If you’re interested in learning more about discounts for multiple spay/neuter days, reach out to Infinity Vet — we can set up one day to spay and neuter several pets at once!

Community Support: Supporting Pets in Need

As we embark on this new year, remember that veterinary care can be a challenge for some families. Consider giving back by contributing to our partnered nonprofit, which supports medical care for pets in need.
